The citation is from Matthew in the NT which is a Greek epistle. This text has no relation to either the etymology of the word itself, or to the citation included in its history. The terminus for the etymology of tittle goes through the Greek keraia to Proto-Indo-European *ḱerh₂- (related to “head, top, or horn”).
