The entry for “still” seems to conclude erroneously in that rather than offering as purported a KJV example of “still soft voice” in context it instead quotes an older Coverdale Bible of 1535 edition which, archaic spelling aside, has the translation into English as “still soft hissing”.

Was a bit of a ‘goose chase’ web searching this, lol, as I didn’t initially make the “hyssinge/hissing” connection and instead took it on faith that “hyssinge” must be some obsolete Middle English synonym for “voice” and directed my curiosity accordingly. E.g. I now know that “hyssing” means “twine” in Norwegian.
