I see that old Norse are mostly exemplified by Swedish and Danish, and not Norwegian. Why exclude Norwegian when this was in the heartland of Old Norse. Also called “Old Norwegian” was the basis for the Norse languages in Iceland, the Shetlands and Faroe Islands, and more, also called Norn. These places were under the Norwegian King for hundreds of years.
Just two examples under “Eye” and “Tuesday”… (“Øye” and “Tysdag, Tirsdag” in Norwegian.)
So please let’s see more examples of Norwegian representing Norse in the future.
Now you’ve made me curious about this as well. Is it possible that there is less written source material in Norwegian compared to Swedish and Dutch?
