No entry for 'coffle'

Came across ‘coffle’ in a book about John Quincy Adams - surprised not to find it here - apparently it’s from the Arabic…

You know what? I think this is a great word suggestion. At least in this Google Ngram, it is in the neighborhood of prevalence compared to some related terms (on the less-frequent side albeit). That being said, Doug and Talia don’t choose entries based on prevalence alone (and sometimes make decisions in opposition). Your best bet would be to email Doug and make your case to him.

Thanks for the quick response – and thanks for the Ngram view. Not sure how much of a case I can make, but will try. Is the email address on Doug’s About page the right one? And can or should I drop your name?

There’s one on the bio/‘who did this?’ page. And dropping my name wont matter. I would recommend drafting a full entry matching the conventions of this dictionary and email that to him with all sources included. And maybe pay special attention to the sources listed in the methods section here.

Also no ai slop. But you don’t seem like that type anyways.
