I think I found a mistake in one of the pages.

I sent this page to my Mexican friend because we were talking about the potential etymology of “adios”. She told me the Spanish in that description seemed incorrect, and carefully suggested that where it says “acomiendo” it should actually say “encomiendo”.
Could someone check me on this? I do not master the Spanish language myself, but I believe my friend.

Though a bit rusty my Spanish (Castellano) agrees with your friend: encomendar (entrust) is a pretty common word whereas *acomendar does not seem to exist.
I’m unsure of the spelling, but the phrase, as adios, seems to mean “to the day,” doesn’t it?
In the website dictionary of the Royal Spanish Academy, the etymology is given as (trans.) “from ‘to God’”

Also, in Spanish the word has an accent mark on the “ó”: “adiós”.
